Is it wrong for me to be like this?

Is it wrong for me to not take pride in work I do? I am having a very hard time not being miserable at work. I work simply because I have to. My friend's dad says that "that's the problem with young people these days, you don't take pride in your job. " Well I just can't yearn to do something that seems absolutely fruitless and insignificant to me. I don't do anything special, I'm a simple clerk. So am I just being some arrogant young punk for my attitude or do you feel the same. Having said all that I should let you know that I defiantly don't let it show at work, but still how do you feel about your job?
