If Abraham did the same thing to his son Isaac in 2011 would he be locked up with the criminally insane?

God hasn't changed. The world has. Abraham may have passed the "test" so that his son was allowed to live, the fact is that God asked him to murder his son, an innocent child. God doesn't have a problem with that, he didn't then and he doesn't now. He doesn't strike me as someone who has any qualms with children suffering in any way. He allows natural disasters like Haiti to kill children , he allows people to do unspeakable things to helpless children all the time resulting in deaths way worse. Who knows, he may even be asking people still to prove their faith in him by sacrificing their kid!
