When will they start listening?

I don't know exactly how you feel, but I'm pretty much in the same spot. I had 4 kids in 5 years and all of them are big trouble makers. My husband is in the army and hasn't been here for the last nine months. My kids are now 7,5,3,2. It seems that they start being a little better behaved around four years old but starts to get a lot better by five. I still have some issues with behavior though, it feels like they run circles around me sometimes. The key is consistent discipline while they are younger, even if you have to stop what you are doing, or leave a store to accomplish it. When they get older you have heart felt discussions about how their behavior effects you. They will get to the point where they empathize and want to help. My oldest will say, "Mom I know the girls are being bad and you are getting frustrated, what do you want me to do to help?" She is such a sweetheart now, but it is due to the fact that she has learned I don't put up with her crap, and many heart to heart talks. She used to be the worst of all. Oh the stories I could tell. I know it seems sometimes like there is no light at the end of the tunnel when it is 24/7. Keep your head up and fight the good fight. It'll be worth it. Another tip I have is get them involved in the cleaning up. I tell my kids if they can't behave they must need a chore to keep them busy. Even the little ones like taking a wet rag and wiping down the walls. I know yours are still little but they can do something to help mama out. Also I would like to add that they are not too young for discipline. I always start my kids when they are 18 months to two years old. The older they are the harder they are to fight. Let them know who is in charge.

Sometimes the controllers will control eachother to a small degree. At one point it paused a game and player 2 controller was controlling player 1 even though the light still said p2. Your characters sound suited to their parts and it sounds like you know them well enough to flesh them out nicely. Once concern, however, is the lady detective; in the Prohibition Era, this just didn't happen. Best to make her a wannabe--maybe the best one around, but she can't be officially a detective. This will be an element that can provide a lot of tension for your story. :) (If you're not sure what tension is in a story and why you need loads of it, google it--it's really important.)

i am 13, physically fit, but i cannot stop burping. it doesn't hit me as bad when i stand, but i will still burp once every ten minutes. but when i sit and lay down, i will burp like crazy, when i sit down, i can burp 400 times in 10-15 minutes. even worse laying down, i can't sleep. they are medium to small burps, but if i am laying down, and sit up, i will burp one or two big burps, and be ok for 30 seconds and it will start up again. sometimes things will come up, but it only gets to the back of my throat, but still burns. i had this since i moved to TN 9 months ago, i though it was stress/trauma form moving, but i moved back and i still burp. and as i said, i've had it for 9 months, and i am not an air swallower, but i was perfect before i moved. i though it was puberty, but all my friends that have gone through or going through say they haven't been burping, my voice has gotten deep, so i think i am done with puberty. everyone who has heard me or slept over has said it was very annoying, what should i do, i've tried ginger ale/soda, exercise, no exercise, water, no water, juices, yoga, stretches, raising my head when i sleep, lowering my head when i sleep. gurgling. also when i have a burping fit, it will build up until i swallow, when i take a sip or drink of anything, it will force a burp. changing positions while sleeping forces a burp too. but there is always 5 second pause between burps. i am normally casual and layed back, so it isn't a stress thing. nobody in my family or ancestors have had this, but my grandfather has heart problems, and i have a stills heart murmur. but i still do sports. i do my "business" regularly, what can it be and how do i get rid of it?

What do I do if I feel like my girlfriend and I are losing our connection?

I've been with this girl for about two months now. Until recently we always acted like best friends around each other. Just go out and pay attention to girls, I never really noticed lesbians before I came out because I always blocked it out, and kinda didn't want to make it obvious I was looking at girls! But once I came out, you can really tell who's gay and who's not, and I was surprised at how many girls I saw who where very obviously gay. Well before i installed adobe and some other things (small things like updates), my computer was really fast on youtube and a browser game. Now on youtube the video plays sounds but the visual of the video slows down and kinda pauses from time to time. The browser game too, before was fast and responded fast, now it takes a while to chat respond and other things. Is there a way to make it faster, i already tried spyware and cleaning up the disc. Lag spikes on Youtube videos, Online games(Combat Arms), Single player games( COD4) that i never used to have?

On my laptop i used to play Combat arms with almost no lag, my YouTube videos played flawlessly... but lately ive been getting lag spikes that last for about a minute, I thought it was my connection(wireless) so i reset my modem but that didn't do anything and the lag spikes are on games that don't use internet connection. I played Combat arms for about a year with the same LAN connection(so i don't think its a hardware issue) or a public wireless connection, but i guess until i started using my own wireless connection it started to do this. When it lags it the screen with show about two frames for the whole thing and its really hard to pause( videos). Its been happening for a while now its made every game impossible to play... with out cursing in blind fury... I never really played single player games on this laptop but i Dont understand why the same lag happens with this( which makes me think its not the wireless connection). Could this be a software problem? it never used to happen before...

Special education debilitates children from excelling. what do you think?

As a child I was forced into the special education system because I was bored with the indoctrinated curriculum. I was an enigma to my teachers and their textbook knowledge. I would ask questions with uninvited answers to what the government conceived as normal learning material. I always thought school was a waste of time and energy. As a child I was way beyond my years with inherited wisdom. I saw the world for what it was a distraction of time, even time is a man made theory. I would question why we spent so much "time" learning about other peoples history and why it was such a deciding factor to my future wellbeing. As they indoctrinate this material into our heads we learn the "normalcy's" of tomorrow, hence why history repeats itself. Forced into puppets the puppeteers trench forward into telling us that we have to learn this stuff to become "normal" and grow up to spend thousands of barrowed dollars for paper validation. Once my teachers caught wind of my un-conformist mind they sent me where I would become humbled before the whole school, special ed. I was mortified at the idea of going, seeing as how it was right in the middle of the whole school. I become humbled to my own inquisitive mind and began to hide behind the walls that had been licked by fellow classmates. Even though I only had to go there for one class I knew I had become ostracized from my friends. I was told that I could not be in the same study hall as my friends but had to go in shame to my "one" on one time. I loathed my teacher. I used to stare her down with my vengeful eyes. She would always ask me if I needed help with my homework or other "needs". In my mind I was searching for the reason to this condescending scenario that I had gotten myself into. After they forced me into this program my grades started to slip as did my yearning to go to school. This was not teaching me anything other than kids are horrible. I was teased and harassed., broken down by my peers my ego shattered onto the floor for others to stomp on. My friends became my enemies. The people I once shared a bond with knighted me a retard. I would run home to cry all alone in my bedroom. My home life was depressing enough with an absent mother and an abusive father. I had no one. Because of my current placement my whole world had become darkened with an abyss of endless tears. No light was to be found in my million mile tunnel. Long story short I begged to be homeschooled, and won the battle. I was self taught and graduated 3 years before my classmates. I met friends from out of town when I attended college. So my question to you is do you think that they should just get rid of this awful system so that children can excel with their confidence and not feel ostracized from their "community"? Should we continue to let children be ridiculed by classmates into thinking they are nothing of importance? What are you thoughts? Do you have a child in special ed? If you so you might want to consider future consequences.

I think it's something to really think about since a 15 year old can be tried for murder than how can they not be considered an as adult in other aspects.

How can I prevent my swimming goggles from fogging up?

I'm not a serious swimmer, but I get annoyed when I swim and my goggles fog up. Philosophical question about partnership?

There is no such thing as unconditional love (in my opinion) There is a line that he must not cross. My partner is not perfect. He has flaws, as do I. We are perfect together and I love his flaws, not just the qualities. If he were ill, incapacitated in anyway I would love him and support him as much as in health. If that illness were mental I would do the same. If he hurt my kids, thats another story. If he beat me, he is no longer the man I thought he was. If he cheated on me, he would not be the man I fell in love with. There are lines in every relationship that can not be crossed. Now the real problem I am having is considering whether, if he did any of these things due to mental illness and was not of sound mind when it happened. Honestly, I dont know. There is a point when self preservation kicks in with us all. Fight or flight. I will say that I could forgive anything he did to ME in those circumstances but where my kids are concerned, they come first and my duty is to protect them at ALL cost. The truth is that none of us can give the answer because no one knows until faced with the reality. I hope I can never answer this question with any real insight.

Ok, so I am a 19 year old guy and I still live at home (due to our messed up financial situation, I don't have a job right now, but will to get out). I have to live here right now. Well, me and my mom always get along but she is a tad more conservative than I am. I tend to dress a tad more extravagant than some, not out of any yearning to be different, but just because that's how I like to present myself and what I'm into. Everyone has their own tastes. She has a problem with listening to my side of things, when I ask her she just says no, and that's it. How do I get her to see I'm an adult (don't say get a job because I want one.. but our financial situation right now doesn't allow it), and how do I get her to see it's just a haircut. I have never done drugs, been drunk, gotten in any real trouble and I'm one of the most polite people you'll ever meet. She has no reason to be saying no to this. And I respect her! Do i have mental problems?

when im alone at night sometimes i get really scared and get cold shivers, i hear things and feel like im not alone, and it always feels like someone is out to get me, or like someone is going to kill me. i am constantly looking around to see if peopel are there, or if i am listening to music i have to take off my headphones, or pause the music to see if i can hear anything, it gets to the point that i cry. i have weird thoughts, and i cant ever explain them to anyone, and when it feels like i can, i cant remember them minutes after. i often have really bad mood swings, one minute im really happy, then the next i am either really angry, or upset. it really scares me, and it scares me even more that i cant talk to anyone about it because i think theyre going to think i am crazy and put me in an insane asylum. sometimes i get really upset about how insane i feel, and ill cry for about ten seconds, and ill be completely fine again. sometimes i think about all of this, then the next second it feels like nothing is wrong, like none of this has ever even happened to me, i question myself when this happens, as if i am someone else, even when i look in the mirror sometimes, it looks like someone else.. what is wrong with me.....? am i just imaganing all of this? or is it all real...?

How to change Windows Media Player skin back to original?

I recently made the dumb mistake of changing my Windows Media Player skin. I though it would be interesting to see how my media player would look with a different skin. I went to the microsoft website and chose the skin called color chooser. I thought when I download a skin I would have the option of switching back and forth to whichever one I want. With the skin I downloaded I cannot even choose the music I want to listen to, cannot go into my library, only have the play, pause, stop and forward backward buttons. What can I do to get the original player back? I looked all over the microsoft website but nowhere did it tell me how I can solve this problem or uninstall this particular skin? Similar to Alice, I've fallen down into A rabbit hole. It holds me inside, warm. I have not yet tried hopelessly crawling out, as I am opposed to the idea. Alice was open minded, very. That's wonderful, don't assume that I'm being critical. I'm just amazed with the ones who do not dwell. Anyway. The rabbit hole is very controversial, however. I'm in it, so I as one believe that it's very comforting. Another would expect more of me; wanting me to come out, try new activity's, be sexual, and open with my emotions. I am a female. But I feel as if I'm not female or male. That most certainly does not mean that I feel as if I'm something in between. God no. I feel like I'm different from the rest. Internet speed suddenly slower?

I got a new computer recently because my old one was fried. So I set up the computer and all was well, except for one thing: I noticed that when watching youtube videos, the videos were pausing to buffer a lot and most videos that I watch now have to frequently pause to buffer. This never happened with my old computer, and in the time between my old one getting fried and me getting my new one, I watched videos on my ipod without it needing to stop to buffer. Is my internet being slowed by something, or is there some kind of option to change internet settings to fix this? There was one cord I didn't plug in because when I did, it wouldn't let my computer run normally. It was the PC/USB cord that goes from my router to the computer. Must I plug that in, or does the problem lie elsewhere?

My mom is always so negative and upset?

I can't do this anymore. I am 17 years old and I have read a lot of books that have improved my mentality and have helped me deal with her and her attitude but I don't know if I can do this anymore. I am starting to hate the PS3?

I have just about had it with the PS3. Updates are a drag everytime i update it takes 20 times for the thing to say "Hey, maybe i should start pausing at a percentage and actually finish downloading this update." I never finished the latest update for PS home...i got sick of seeing the update stop and watching the estemated time go up to an entire day. I am sick of being on the browser and randomly the console freezes and there are a number of accessories that don't work for my ps3 like any headset, anything blue tooth...basically the only accessories that do work are keyboards and wire less adapters for peripherals. QUINCE HELP PLEASE AHHHHH?

So my friend asked me to be a dama for her quince. And we've been going to practice for a couple months now, and her party is July 23. And we are getting our dances from youtube videos! We arnt learning anything. She doesnt hire a coreographer. And Im super worried were not going to learn the dances in time for her party! I am super nervous. The practices arnt set on specific days, there all random. So my mom gets very upset with me because she asks me if i have practice that day and i never know! No one wants to be in the dance anymore. And I dont either, but im not going to quit because i told her i would. you know? And we still need another dama and chambalon. And Idk what to do! We have to learn like 3 or 4 more dances. What crime is committed if a friend that was keeping my horse sold it to an auction/kill buyer?

My friend volunteered to keep my horse on his property when we moved into town from the country. No boarding fee was ever discussed. We helped with chores, provided feed, and took care of the farm on multiple occasions. He got a new girlfriend in March, and for some God awful reason, they took my horse to an auction and sold her to the auction owner/kill buyer. After months of investigations, I found out she was ultimately shipped to Mexico for slaughter. I rode this horse for 20 years!!! The local police claim it is all civil(while I am pursuing a civil suit), but so many others told me that if not theft, he at least committed deprivation of property. As well as a misdemeanor for not notifying me he planned to move/sell my horse. I am really confused how so many different law enforcement officers have so many different views. Any input?? I'd rather see him charged criminally, although I have a very strong civil case against him. Any suggestions? What laws have been broken in your opinion? Thanks, Jaime

How to change Windows Media Player skin back to original?

I recently made the dumb mistake of changing my Windows Media Player skin. I though it would be interesting to see how my media player would look with a different skin. I went to the microsoft website and chose the skin called color chooser. I thought when I download a skin I would have the option of switching back and forth to whichever one I want. With the skin I downloaded I cannot even choose the music I want to listen to, cannot go into my library, only have the play, pause, stop and forward backward buttons. What can I do to get the original player back? I looked all over the microsoft website but nowhere did it tell me how I can solve this problem or uninstall this particular skin? How did you know when you were "done"?

After my 3rd I stopped yearning for a baby. I noticed that I started feeling pity instead of jealousy when I saw a pregnant woman and as much as I love holding babies...I found that I LOVE giving them back to their parents when they cry even more. Is there a why to stop lagging on youtube?

Well before i installed adobe and some other things (small things like updates), my computer was really fast on youtube and a browser game. Now on youtube the video plays sounds but the visual of the video slows down and kinda pauses from time to time. The browser game too, before was fast and responded fast, now it takes a while to chat respond and other things. Is there a way to make it faster, i already tried spyware and cleaning up the disc. So far nothing has helped. My compuer is a Windows XP.

If you were signing her name after her death, it is fraud which is a crime, but you probably won't be charged in criminal court. I met this really cute girl in my bio (college) class about 3 weeks ago. We small talk everday and I try to flirt with her. I was about 70% sure she liked me so today I just talked to her and told her (despite intense nervousness) that i thought she was super cute. I was planning on asking her out (on a date) afterwards but I was not sure what to make of her reaction. After I told her she paused for maybe a second then she smiled and said thanks (it might just be me but I dont think she was TOO excited) then she said it must be her curly hair, i laughed and say maybe. i think its up to the person carrying the baby if they want it or not within reasonable timeframes.if the foetus is not able to live outside the womb then i think it should be possible to do as you see fit .imagine if someone who had a sever learning disability got pregnant. it may not be fair to put that person through a pregnancy and then childbirth, abortion may be the best option. a rape victim might not want her baby. it is upto the mother really. i have a different view if its a serial aborter but thats not really the issue, some people just need to use protection ......if a puppy is born with a deformity the mother will kill it herself.

I submitted one about 8 weeks ago, and the recruiter told me it would take about 7 weeks on the safe side to pass. There is only one opening in my state for the MOS I want so I want it to pass so I can go to MEPS soon. The recruiter told me that he would be shocked if it didn't pass because I scored great on the ASVAB and have a clean background medically and criminally (minus the shoulder problem I submitted the waiver for).
